This video will teach you methods of training and Core JKD specific techniques for successfully dealing with unavoidable knife attacks using a cloth or other flexible material.
Scroll further down to see the content on the video, including open hand and periphery drills that will enhance your ability to read attacks as they happen or before, giving you time to deal with the attack.
I'm revealing one of our most-guarded secrets. This defense is only trained in person with me.
Now I'm putting it up because I see so many people training poorly for something so devastating when done wrong.
This is no longer 300 or 3000 years ago. Why train in methods whose true meaning has been lost or at worst watered down as if to be no longer effective?
Fight training methodology has been updated and fine-tuned to meet our understanding of physics, RESISTING bodies in motion, and psychology—and still people are training as if they wear armor and shields.
You know my training methods are functional. My YouTube channel has hundreds of examples of how I teach and why I teach a certain way.
I am not bound by the political systems that crush the creative spirit with repetitive, mind-numbing drills that don't actually apply in a real fight against resisting opponents.
I get many comments from people saying, "Wow, I didn't know these techniques could actually work together this way."
That sort of statement comes from many of the hundreds of thousands of viewers each month to my YouTube channel.
The personal replies and thank-yous come from people who can't train a certain way because it might offend their instructor. So they train my methods in secret.
Isn't that sad?
There are brave souls willing to shun dogma and become freer to train in methods that actually make them FUNCTIONAL in a fight.
This video—and all my videos—are for those people who want that freedom and functionality they haven't found in their own systems they've trained in for years and decades.
My goal is to help in any way I can to give you a new perspective you may not have thought of—or may have thought of, but were too afraid to break away from your standard schools of thought and repetitive conditioning to explore.
Use this in secret if you have to. Use it to explore your full potential.
My best to you in your training,
—Ming
