Undercover Substitutions (CHROMATONAL ii-V7-I) + backing tracks

In this study I illustrate how to apply the concepts from my “Undercover Substitutions” book series to "ii-V7-I" progressions and how to find different substitutions and colorations for the original harmony by using all the degrees of the chromatic scale.

Once we extract a series of possible substitutions for each original chord moving through all 12 degrees of the chromatic scale we can put them back together in the form of a “ii-V7-I” progression that also moves chromatically up or down.

The concepts and ideas presented in this harmonic study are among some of my favorite ways to re-harmonize tunes as well as sonically contrast and spice-up standard chord progressions.
