THOUGHTS:
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Matthew 25:35-36

We look at the superheroes of our faith and we think “I can never be like them.”  We think serving God means doing something so incredibly extraordinary – like parting seas or killing 7 Foot giants – when the truth is God only asks us to do average, ordinary feats of courage.  God wants ordinary heroes with extraordinary hearts willing to step in and help whenever needed and whoever is in need.

God asks us to give water, invite in, offer clothes, help the sick and visit prisoners.  No superhuman strength needed.  No amazing abilities to see through walls.

Just willingness.

That’s where heroes are made.

THEMES: SERVING, HEROISM, HELPING OTHERS
